CME INFORMATION

Intended Audience
The 7th International Symposium on Diabetic Neuropathy is developed for scientists and physicians who are interested in better understanding the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with diabetic neuropathy. In addition, the symposium is intended for physicians and other healthcare providers with a special interest in the diabetic peripheral neuropathies, including the diabetic foot.

Learning Format
Thise program will include lectures with audiovisual enhancement, panel discussions, abstract presentations, and poster presentations. There will be several opportunities for registered delegates to interact with the presenting faculty on a one-on-one basis.

Accreditation Statement
All CME-certified activities associated with this program have been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the Institute for Medical and Nursing Education (IMNE), and International Medical Press (IMP).

IMNE is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).

IMNE designates this educational activity for a maximum of 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this symposium, participants should be able to:
• Discuss metabolic and autoimmune theories as they pertain
   to the development and progression of diabetic neuropathy
• Describe the role of microvascular and macrovascular pathogenesis in the
   development of diabetic neuropathy
• Translate the underlying microvascular and macrovascular pathogenesis into
   clinical utility
• Discuss the impact of diabetic neuropathy on the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal,
   and sexual organ systems
• Discuss therapeutic approaches, including symptomatic, disease-modifying,
   and future treatments, that target underlying metabolic pathways
• Compare and contrast current and emerging screening and management
   techniques for the diabetic foot

CME Credit and Verification
Upon request, delegates will be issued certificates of credit or verification based on the amount of time spent attending the plenary sessions and commercially supported symposia.
